Please notice that Hyperion now comes with new animations! The Hyperion Patch download has been divided into two parts: new FLC's and the altered *.DAT files and Manowitz. If you want to download the new art, click here. Otherwise if you wish to download just the changes to the *.DAT files and the Manowitz, select hyp1375beta.zip. The Unit and Technology Design Spreadsheets have been added at the bottom.

EFSLoader1.1.zip (1.41 MB) EFS Galaxy Loader! Created by lordmoore! See the readme included in the ZIP file, but can be used to load a different galaxy when starting EFS. Works with any Mod / Patch!
hyp14g.zip (1.57 MB) Hyperion V1.4g! V1.4 now is officially in the Gamma stage! I am really excited about this release!
  1. Please see the README.1ST file included in the ZIP file as it has very important information regarding the Gamma.
  2. This version includes a "doctored" EFS.EXE file (EFSHYP.EXE) that enables the Symbiots to build all their units (both ground and space).
  3. This version of Hyperion is quite a bit different from the Beta with the changing of the "Naval" class to the "Amphibious" class. This affects all Crawler and Water units. The Naval unit class is now empty as all there were certain issues with this unit class, namely hard-coded immunity to Ranged Space attacks.
  4. The Direct Attack Mode can now attack Foot units and the Close Combat Mode can now attack all ground units. Close combat weapons have now been carefully attenuated such that they are effective against Foot units, but not very effective against other ground units.
  5. All base unit statistics are auto-generated off of a base statistic using the unit's Faction, Movement Type, Unit Class, and Unit Type. This makes the units specifically tuned for their technology research, whether they are Symbiots or normal units, Air or Crawler, Noble or Spy, and Starbase or Cadiz Dreadnought. I am really excited about this feature of Hyperion as it ensures that all units are balanced and match their technology level and use. This is a mechanization of the "feel" I've had with previous versions of Hyperion, but should ensure that more bases are covered. Nonetheless, the Gamma will give me the opportunity to tie up any loose ends.
  6. Epochs - to deal with limitations in the EFS.EXE file, I needed to create 3 separate UNIT.DAT files to allow the computer AI to keep up with human players during single-player games. Please see the README.1ST file for more information, but note that only Epoch 1 is enabled in UNIT.DAT.
  7. Included in the ZIP file are 5 Galaxies in the Gal folder.

hyp14b.zip (880 Kb) Hyperion V1.4b! V1.4 now is officially in the beta stage! This version of Hyperion is quite a bit different from previous versions. Movement rates have dramatically increased, Armor strength now makes a big difference. Naval and Air units are greatly improved. Included in the ZIP file are 5 Galaxies in the Gal folder.   • Bug Fix! League Bulk Haulers are now 3 movement - making their movement higher than this was causing the game to crash.
  • Balance change TARGET.DAT - Landers are now vulnerable to Ranged Space Weaponry again. This will make PTS weapons much more effective and enable the AO players to effectively counteract various strategies against them.
  • Added new Shock Units! Based on Russ Gillen's "Bliztkrieg" unit idea, there is now an alternate path for high-end tread units besides the stealth path. Also, there are early versions of shock units available as well.
  • Added new Officer-class unit, the Armor Commander.
  • The Church space ships are now all jump (i.e. Holy Warrior, Divine Lander, and Holy Terra Flagship) so that the Church AO will attack you in space.
  • The Gunboat unit class now requires Infantry as the input unit and the Special Operations Craft class now requires Covert Legions as the input unit.
  • Fixed STRBUILD.DAT so that Starports can be built with Composite Armor, not Megachassis.
  • Manowitz errata update - fixed inconsistencies between the Manowitz Volumes and how they really work in the Hyperion patch.
  • rebellion.zip (147 Kb) NEW! Rebellion Galaxy by Tiberius! This is a great galaxy for use with the Hyperion patch. It is well suited for both single- and multi-player games. Here is the officical site!
    r19feb01.zip (127 Kb) New Galaxy! This galaxy was randomly generated on 19FEB01, hence its name. Change - the starting League units on House homeworlds have been toned down so that they are not so apt to wipe players out early in the game. It has been designed for multi-player games but should also work okay for single-player games as well. Beginners through experts should find this galaxy quite challenging and most importantly fun!
    spartan.zip (126 Kb) Spartan Galaxy - a modification of Troy Schuler's Trojan Galaxy that makes single player games much more challenging. Updated to work with the Hyperion Patch V1.375.
    horiginal.zip (91.7 Kb) Updated for use with Hyperion V1.375! Hyperionized version of the Original EFS Galaxy file. The bulk of the work was done by Kent Peterson.

    3. Run EFS and then load SOREN.SAV to begin!

  • All space ships and other big units (i.e. naval vessels) now require Food as an input
  • Implemented Sean O'Neal's idea for disassembling Naval units for transport
  • Fixed some minor errors - Colony Ships and Demolition Teams had the incorrect number of turns to build
  • Trans-orbital Shuttles now require only Cargo Handling and Monopols as opposed to Cargo Handling, Monofilament, and Cold Fusion Cells. Now you can build these before space ships are available, which makes more sense.
  • Doubled the movement points for the Truck(8) and Hover Truck(16) - now they are much more useful.
  • Engineers are now 200 Food / 500 Metal
  • Space Marines and Wraith Space Marines could not be hit by Symbiot units - this has been fixed
  • Naval Units (i.e. Naval Transports and Submarines) are now vulnerable to Indirect - Symbiots could not hurt them previously.
  • A few more slight changes here and there
